FORMER Norton legislator Themba Mliswa’s rural home was destroyed by lightning on Sunday night.
Posting on his social media platforms Mliswa said although it is a sad development to loose property, he thanks God and ancestors no lives were lost.
“Very sad that we recently suffered a lightning attack in my rural area of Shurugwi. I was supposed to be there on the Sunday night when the lighting struck but was held at the Farm and arrived only after. Thank God that no one was hurt. It’s nature& I thank God nevadzimu vangu,” he said.
The former legislator reminded those in positions of influence to set up structures for people who might fall in the same misfortune he said
“However at a human level what is the Gvt policy relating to such issues of lighting and other natural disasters. As a legislator these are some of the issues to raise in the August House. Is there any Disaster Fund to assist those who face such challenges.”
However Mliswa said despite the sad lose he will rise again.
“The before and after lightning images below show the level of devastation inflicted at Mliswa village. However, the King will rise again. When one palace is destroyed one has to build a bigger and better one,” he said.
