Zimbabwean musical group Mokoomba continues to soar to greater heights after being selected to perform at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Fan Zone line-up in Morocco.

The group added a distinct Zimbabwean flavour to the continental celebrations, performing yesterday at the official CAF Fan Zone in Agadir as part of a star-studded African line-up.

Mokoomba, an explosively talented six-man ensemble from Victoria Falls that has been hailed as one of the most exciting bands to emerge from Africa in the 21st century, further cemented its status by being selected to be part of the continent’s biggest football showcase.

The award-winning group expressed excitement and pride at being chosen to perform on such a prestigious continental platform, describing football and music as powerful unifying forces that bring people together across borders.

“We are really excited to be part of the CAF Fan Zone lineup full of African stars. Football brings people together and so does music. Proud to represent Zimbabwe at such a stage,” Mokoomba said on their official platforms.

The group also extended heartfelt gratitude to Morocco’s Ministry of Culture and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the invitation, while thanking fans back home and across the continent for their unwavering support.

The AFCON Fan Zone line-up featured several established international artists, including Stonebwoy, French Montana, Joeboy and Davido, among others.
