The Jibilika Creative Academy has partnered with the City of Kadoma to establish the Jibilika Creative Academy and Hub, an innovative initiative set to transform the city into a vibrant centre for youth creativity, innovation and cultural development.
The Academy was founded in 2007 by the renowned creative social entrepreneur and journalist, Plot Mhako as a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering young people for social and economic development.
Their program involves music production coaching, video production, dance and talent management.
Mhako described the partnership as a major milestone in Jibilika’s journey.
“I am super happy to share that Jibilika has partnered the City of Kadoma to establish Jibilika Creative Academy and Hub in the city.
“Jibilika has always been about creating opportunities, nurturing talent and building platforms for artists and young people to shine and today we take that vision further,” He said.

According to the Mayor of Kadoma, Councillor Nigel Ruzario, the hub will be a place where talent is nurtured, ideas are transformed into viable ventures and the future leaders of Kadoma’s creative economy are forged.
The program runs in different areas the likes of GlenView and Budiriro but often use the Acquatic Complex in Chitungwiza.
Over the years, Jibilika has initiated and supported influential platforms such as Moto Moto Festival in Germany, EarGround TV, Amplifaya, Mafuwe International Festival of Dance and the Zim Hip Hop Summit, cementing its role as a key driver of youth culture in Zimbabwe.
This initiative closely aligns with the government’s ambition to promote national grassroots skills.
The new hub will be a unique creative space in Kadoma designed to nurture talent from the city and surrounding rural communities which will offer training in creative arts, entrepreneurship, digital technology and innovation, equipping young people with practical skills for sustainable livelihoods.
Facilities at the hub will include co-working spaces for local creatives, artist residencies for national and international exchange, structured programs under the Creative Academy and a performance venue to showcase emerging talent.
“This marks a bold new chapter for Jibilika,” Mhako said, expressing gratitude to the Mayor of Kadoma, Councillors and City management for their support.
“It will be a place where ideas turn into ventures and talent meets opportunity,” He added.
