NAMA Collaborates Bounty Bulawayo as Golf Day Preps Gather Momentum

4th edition National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) Golf Day scheduled for the 10th of November is to be held in Bulawayo and the preparations have gathered momentum with Bulawayo Bounty roped in an innovative online platform.
The event is hosted by National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and the Jacaranda Culture Media Corporation (JCMC) as the events partner will have a new partner Bounty Bulawayo on board.
In a press release, NAMA spokesperson Tinashe Kitchen said they are expecting a subscription of approximately 100-120 players. “As always, all Zimbabwean artists play for free. We encourage artists to take this opportunity to meet with various corporates in order to explore areas of collaboration and business opportunities”, he said.
“In the past we have had artists and personalities such as Nutty-O, Anita Jaxson, Samantha Musa (MisRed), Andile Musambasi (1st edition NAMA Golf day winner), Russel Chiradza, Larry Kwirirayi, Chenesai Mangoma, Isaac Wiscot, Chiedza Kurwakumire, Shamiso Quang, Barry Manandi, Mike Madoda to name a few all taking part”, he added.
“For the first time in the history of the NAMA Golf Day, we have shifted the event to Bulawayo. We felt it was important that the nation be reminded of the amazing artistic work that has come out of the City of Kings. The NAMA Golf Day serves as an official launch pad for this process, and we look forward to utilising the platform to showcase”, Kitchen explained as NAMA will be held in Bulawayo this time.around.
Bounty Bulawayo is an innovative online platform that aims to showcase the rich culture, arts, and attractive destinations of the beautiful city of Bulawayo. Through engaging YouTube Channels and WhatsApp Channels, Bulawayo Bounty provides a platform for local content creators, artists, and enthusiasts to share their stories, experiences, and talents. By leveraging technology and digital media, Bulawayo Bounty aims to promote geobranding and create a virtual community that celebrates the essence of Bulawayo. Through the collaboration, NAMA and Beyond Bounty will host arts exhibitions, poetry performances, contemporary dance, and other exciting artistic genres during the golf day.
The event was made possible through sponsorship from Skyz Metro, Dariro Mode, Culture Fund through the European Union, Zifm Stereo, Air Zimbawe, ZLG, Dendairy and Wild Africa Travel & Tours.
The historic and unique event will provide an immersive experience that celebrates the culture, arts, and geobranding of Bulawayo. By combining the elegance of golf with captivating art exhibitions, poetry performances, a violin act, and a contemporary dance act, the event will create a lasting impression and generate enthusiasm for the Bulawayo Bounty platform.
“The NAMA Golf Day has grown each and every year since its inception 4 years ago. This, however, is the most exciting edition yet as we are taking the event to Bulawayo for the first time ever. We expect a different atmosphere, a different culture, and a different level of engagement from artists”.
“We believe that all of Zimbabwe’s artists should be given an opportunity to take part in this event, and we look forward to taking it to different parts of the country in the future.We also expect a large turnout from players, we have already received a largernumber of registrations, and we hope that artists will also take up the opportunity to meet with corporates and discuss areas of collaboration” Kitchen explained.
