Sungura maestro Alick Macheso filled up Alex Sports Club as scores of fans thronged his album launch event on Friday night.

Macheso launched his much-anticipated album, titled ‘Kupa Kuturika,’ wowed his fans with his impressive performance and left them wanting more.

Amongst the supporting acts Feli Nandi and Andy Muridzo gave splendid performances. Muridzo had the fans wanting more after singing most fans favorite song “Nhekwe,” which many believe it is a spiritual song.

At the launch, the Sungura Maestro performed songs from his new album, which features six tracks: “Kuverengera,” “Undiregererewo,” “Zvichada Hama,” “Murangarire,” “Kunditaya,” and “Hunhu Hwakashata.”

Macheso’s performance had to be interrupted by a grand gesture, from the Zimbabwe’s Minister of Youth, Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training Tino Machakaire who blessed the Sungura legend with a whopping US$10k.

Minister Machakaire gifted Alick Macheso the money during his impressive 13th album launch, and while accepting the money Macheso said the minister also promised him a lorry which is on it way.

The album launch was also graced by the Hon. Emily Jesaya Deputy Minister of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture as well as Hon. John Paradza, Deputy Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife.
