Zimdancehall has been thrown into a frenzy with the release of Seh Calaz’s new diss track, “Mambo Ndimambo.”

The track sees the controversial artist unleashing a barrage of verbal attacks on several prominent figures in the music industry, including Winky D, Maggikal, Silent Killer, Ricky Fire, and even journalist Hopewell Chin’ono.

Seh Calaz boldly declares himself the “Dancehall King” in the track, asserting his dominance over his peers. He boasts about his reign, stating that even Freeman’s “Dangerzone” clan acknowledges his supremacy. He further claims that musician, General Aladin (Master H), recognizes him as the sole true “General” of Zimdancehall.

The chorus of the song, “Mambo ndimambo nyangwe akarara nyangwe asati amuka,” translates to “The King remains King even when he is asleep,” signifying Seh Calaz’s belief that his reign is unquestionable, indicating that Calaz is saying he has been asleep musically but now he is back in full force.

The track also includes the lyrics “One Tawanda ano zvimbisa maGaffa / One Tawanda aimira nachibaba / One Tawanda akapedza mayezi .Maggie ne ndururani akapinza ngwere basa”

The diss track has not gone unnoticed by its targets.

Hopewell Chin’ono, despite being a journalist, has responded to the attack with a challenge.

He wrote on social media the lyrics of his video chanting, “Urigwara mupfanha iwe Seh Calaz You diss me in your track which is fair game for all sound men, but you refuse a sound clash with me, why? Kana ndachembera as you said, come to a clash and prove that you are the king! There is only one king wemangoma mufanha Tawanda, his name is Winky D. Inini I am ready for you anytime, let us give people this clash, prove to them that even Daddy Hope wakavapedzera! Come Calaz, don’t be a coward, let us do this!”

Hopewell further challenged Seh Calaz to a clash with proceeds going to charity.

Maggikal, however, has chosen a more diplomatic approach.

In a Facebook post, he stated, “Ndini ndakatukwa ndakazvinyararira hangu asi ndini futi wamuri take take kurwisa. MaZimbabweans you never disappoint. Anyway ari kuda zvemaDiss ngaanyore ake, tomupa link remaProducer kana asina obva azvirecordera ozvifadza hake .”

Seh Calaz’s “Mambo Ndimambo” has undoubtedly reignited the flames of rivalry in the Zimdancehall scene.

One thing is certain, this diss track has generated a lot of buzz and has once again cemented Seh Calaz’s position as one of the most controversial and talked-about figures in Zimbabwean music.
