Nadia Nakai, Tamy Moyo, and Master H to Headline Shoko Festival 2024: “Both Sides of Samora”

The 14th edition of Zimbabwe’s premier urban culture, Shoko Festival, has unveiled its first round of headline acts. Headlining the event are South African rapper Nadia Nakai, rising Zimdancehall star Master H, and Afro Pop Fusion artist Tamy Moyo.

South African hip-hop queen Nadia Nakai will be expected to deliver an electrifying homecoming performance. Master H, the rising star of Zimdancehall, will bring his chart-topping songs like “Dhanzi” and other crowd favorites.

Tamy Moyo, Her performance at Shoko Festival marks her second appearance, having performed at Shoko 2016 edition. Known for her Afro Pop Fusion hits, including her latest single “Kelly Kelvedhura” featuring Master H, Tamy will also be expected to dazzle audiences with her strong catalogue of hit songs.

This year’s festival’s theme, “#BothSidesOfSamora,” aims to highlight the historical divide between different social classes in Zimbabwe. This theme celebrates the young cultural pioneers who are shaping Zimbabwe’s future and turning dreams into reality through creative resistance.

Vera Chisvo, Shoko Festival Coordinator said, this year’s event will be a true celebration of diverse backgrounds of the youth, united through music and performing arts. “Our star studded line up is a true reflection of that we will be announcing more acts in due course,” She said.

The upcoming three-day Festival promises to captivate audiences with a diverse array of performances. In addition to the announced headline acts, the festival will feature a range of musical genres, including hip-hop, dancehall, and spoken word, as well as stand-up comedy.

Over the years, Shoko has hosted a powerful lineup of African urban culture pioneers, including Casper Nyovest, HHP, AKA, Tehn Diamond, Tumi Morake, Kikky Badass, and Winky D.
